So here’s a random extra post for the week - a mix tape, of sorts. Years and years ago I did a dumb website called Skinbyrd where I basically just posted photos of skinheads, talked about reggae, football, oi/streetpunk, and other parts of obsessive culture of the close shave and the heavy boot. Part of that was making mixes of rock steady, dub, soul music, power pop, hard mod, oi, street punk, etc that I would put online for people to enjoy. I enjoyed making these ‘tapes’ and people still ask me about them from time to time so I figure, why not continue the tradition here? So here’s the first two such mixes - like my musical taste, these will probably be all over the place and reflective of what I’m listening to in the moment. I’m making these free to stream for all but paid subscribers will have the ability to download.
